Locus Breadalbane Ltd, who operate the Town Hall and Locus Centre, have completed a significant milestone in developing an affordable housing project for Aberfeldy. Communities Housing Trust and architect Andrew Black Design, have submitted an application for listed building consent for the renovation of space within Aberfeldy Town Hall.
This community-owned project aims to provide two flats which will be made available at affordable rent levels. This is the first project of its kind to progress in Aberfeldy, and seeks to prioritise the housing needs of the community. Along with Aberfeldy Development Trust, Locus Breadalbane promote sustainability, collaborate with local organisations, embrace community ownership and hope to help address the issue of affordable housing in the area. The project was supported by Perth & Kinross Council, Rural Housing Fund and Architectural Heritage Fund.
